Well what can I say we have taken the plunge to buy a property in another country with the pitfalls that that can bring!!
Actually it was surprisingly easy and straightforward.
The farmhouse was built at the end of the 2nd world war. It was part of a working farm until the previous French farming family had no successors to run the farm. After the farmer died the became too large for his wife, who was starting to struggle with an illness.
The elderly lady is now resident in sheltered accomadation not too far from the farm.
We had a lot of work to carry out when we took over the property in April 2008 – 26 years to the day after we got married.
