Why have a website about Lower Normandy?
As I would say to most questions asked to me why not? Being serious there are many reasons for creating this site.
For most of our working lives and certainly our social and sporting lives we have been closely involved with people on a daily basis. Face to face and also via telephone and internet/email and really enjoy that aspect of life.
However a new challenge looms on the horizon, in just over 12 years time we will be retiring, we have set plans in place and maybe some of the social interaction will not be the same as it is now.
Hopefully be setting up this site now,we can use it to keep in touch with our friends during our periods away from the UK, and also be a vehicle for creating a circle of contacts in our retirement locations whilst keeping everybody updated to where we are.
Our plan has always been to travel when we retire, we have a motorhome that we have used to explore Europe and as a place to stay whilst we were motor racing. Due to living in the North West of England we found that the most expensive part of travelling in Europe can be the 300 miles to Dover and the ferry cost to France. Also the hassle the motorway network to and from Kent can prove to be a nightmare.
